Histoire archivistique
Most of the Tutankhamun Archive was formerly in the possession of Howard Carter's niece Miss Phyllis Walker.
Some documentation was in the possession of Tutankhamun excavation team members, including Alan Gardiner, Alfred Lucas and Percy Newberry.
The rest of the material was donated by descendants of members of the team, most notably, the Arthur C. Mace papers, which were first loaned to the Griffith Institute by Mace's daughter, Margaret Orr. The loan of this material along with further items was continued by Mrs Orr's children (Mace's grandchildren), David Orr and Alison Crawford.
