Archival history
Reported to have been hung above Howard Carter's desk in his house 'Carter Castle II' at Thebes. The house was bequeathed by Carter to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Theban Expedition, who cleared the house in 1940 and shipped much of the documentation back to New York.
The watercolour was then in two private collections in the U.S.A.
