Nota biografica
British Egyptologist. Born, Dublin 1871. Died, London 1956. Through her interest in Egyptology she met, then married, Flinders Petrie in 1896. Worked with her husband on his excavations, helping to raise the money to fund their work. She also assisted Margaret Murray with her excavations of the Osireion at Abydos, 1902-3.

This album and a photograph album (Petrie MSS 6.1) are referred to as "belonging to Lady Petrie", but there is no documentation on file that confirms this attribution.

Album, 36 x 24.5 cm, "Post Card Album” impressed on the cover, 38 pages with 192 postcards. Most of the postcards have not been used, those which have been posted are all addressed to Alfred Lionel Lewis (d. 1920), a Prehistorian and Vice President of the Royal Anthropological Institute. The Pitt-Rivers Museum, Oxford, also possesses a collection of Lewis’ scale models of prehistoric monuments. Most of the postcards are listed in the order they are presented in the album.
