Notes and ephemera

This group consists of two parts:

  • Edwards MSS 1.1-311
    • notebook with annotation on the cover: 'Notes & Extracts' (ink note)
    • 311 numbered ruled pages, with some loose and affixed items
    • includes a range of handwritten and printed material, watercolours and drawings
  • Edwards MSS 1.312-347
    • 1 package containing 36 loose numbered items

This group consists of four albums.

  • Edwards MSS 2.1: Watercolours and drawings made in Egypt, 1874.

  • Edwards MSS 2.3: Ephemera, including some Egypt and Dolomite-related material, 1872-1891.
  • Edwards MSS 2.4: Watercolours and drawings made in Egypt, 1874.

Egypt large album

Album containing drawings and watercolours during visit to Egypt in the winter of 1873-1874. Many of the preliminary sketches and watercolours in the album were used to illustrate her book A Thousand Miles Up the Nile, published in 1877.
