Gardiner to Howard Carter, 9 July 1923, with Gardiner's transcription and translation for the lion-hunt ostracon, found during Carnarvon excavations in the Valley of the Kings, Thebes. The ostracon was found in 1920, near the, yet to be discovered, entrance to the tomb of Tutankhamun, KV 62, is now in New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art, 26.7.1453.
