- Mostly World War I correspondence, written whilst on active service. The letters are addressed to his family in general, but the content has been tailored for his young daughter Patricia. References to “Mamie” refer to his wife, Mary Florence Lawton “Rita”, who presumably would read the letters to Patricia.
