- 1860-1861
Loose mounted watercolour inspired by a relief scene from the right wall of side room L of the tomb of Ramesses III (KV11, Valley of the Kings) on the west bank of Thebes. This scene is now destroyed within the tomb, and shows a series of five decorated chairs and accompanying stools. On the bottom edge of the mount is a handwritten note in ink: 'Chairs painted in the tomb of Rameses the 3d Thebes'.
