Modern negatives: copies of original Burton negatives

  • Copies of Harry Burton's negatives for the excavation of the tomb of Tutankhamun.
  • This later set of film negatives was made from the original Burton large plate glass negatives (TAA.i.5) and small glass negatives (TAA.i.5A) after the negatives were conserved between 1980 and 1982.

  • Seven glass negatives of the following Harry Burton photographs. Annotations on the original housing indicate these were copied from Howard Carter's set of lantern slides [TAA i.8]. Some of the housing is also marked 'P.F.' so they may have been made on behalf of Penelope Fox for Tutankhamun's Treasures (1951), although not all of the images in this group are included in the publication.
