Letter from Sir Alan Gardiner to Howard Carter concerning Carter's draft of the article for the tomb, later published in Journal of Egyptian Archaeology 3 (2/3). Gardiner is convinced that the tomb belongs to Amenophis I and offers alternative translations for its location as recorded in Papyrus Abbott [British Museum 10221; TM 13222]. Letter from Alan H. Gardiner to Howard Carter, 9 July 1923, with Gardiner's transcription and translation for the lion-hunt ostracon, found during Carnarvon excavations in the Valley of the Kings, Thebes. The ostracon was found in 1920, near the, yet to be discovered, entrance to the tomb of Tutankhamun, KV 62, is now in New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art, 26.7.1453.
