Egyptian stela of Niankh-tet from the necropolis at Saqqara, probably of late 3rd / early 4th Dynasty:

- [on recto, bottom edge] 'Ancient Egyptian monument, with figures, Inscriptions, &c, part of which are beautifully cut in relief and part in Intaglio. It is supposed to be historical. The subtance is marble - a circumstance of very rare occurrence for a monument of this kind. Another is perhaps not in the Kingdom. Size, length 2ft, 5in, breadth 1ft. 11, thickness 10 inches. It forms part of the extensive and choice Egyptian collections in the possession of J. Sams. 1837.' (ink note)
